Harbors Review Spotlight – Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Shipping
The “Harbours Review Spotlight: GHG emissions in shipping” gains momentum, as both IMO and the European Commission join the discussion. The seminar is aimed at assessing the situation following IMO’s decision to cut GHG emissions from shipping by 50% until the year 2050. This goal, viewed by some as highly achievable and highly ambitious by others, will definitely have an impact on the maritime industry.
A deep analysis will set the ground for recommendations aimed at helping shipowners prepare for achieving the goal of decarbonization. Instead of just listing what needs to be done, the seminar will also present a set of tools, such as innovative technologies and cooperation opportunities, which will help shipowners to successfully cut emissions.
